Longstanding participants include Gallery MOMO, David Krut Projects, Goodman Gallery, Everard Read, Stevenson and SMAC.
The Fair spearheads a diverse ‘Joburg Art Week’ with various events happening around the city from open studios, gallery openings, workshops and debates.
This year’s fair features Robin Rhode as the main attraction.
Rhode was born in 1976 in Cape Town and currently lives and works in Berlin. He has had solo museum shows at the Drawing Center, New York; Kulturhuset Stadsteatern, Stockholm; Kunstmuseum Luzern, Switzerland; National Gallery of Victoria, Melbourne; Los Angeles and more.
In 2008 at the first edition of the fair, Rhode was selected as the inaugural featured artist. Over the years, the FNB Joburg Art Fair has become a platform for Contemporary African Art. This is officially the tenth edition.
