The Chanticleer Singers are joined by the choir of the Jesus College, Cambridge in a celebration of the lives of composers Leonard Bernstein and Charles Hubert Parry, as well as the 100th anniversary of Nelson Mandela’s birth.
Singing works include Bernstein’s seminal work, the Chichester Psalms, as well as various choral works by Parry – including the famous hymn “Jerusalem”. In addition, they sing a new tribute medley to Mandela especially conceptualized by local arranger Ralf Schmidt. They are joined by a small ensemble from the Johannesburg Festival Orchestra, as well as organ scholars from the Jesus College, conducted by Richard Cock and Richard Pinel.
