A play based on the saying “Nyala o Nyele” in the Sotho culture.
The saying itself means that marriage is not an easy process, as things get chaotic and people must prepare themselves for what comes with being married. The play takes on a different approach about the saying, where the audience is taken through a journey of Nomsa who is married and committed to Joe.
It allows her to explore in conversation how things are expected to be done both traditionally and in the western culture. Nyala O’ is comedic and leaves no stone unturned, it makes use of real life discussions with in a marriage.
