Talking Art at Keyes: Art Criticism: The Future

The second edition of the Talking Art at Keyes series sees acclaimed author, Ashraf Jamal in conversation with internationally published art critic and editor, Sean O’Toole.

Coming together to mark Jamal’s recently-published book, In the World: Essays on Contemporary South African Art, these renowned thinkers engage in an open-form discussion about being a working art critic. Published by Skira, one of the world’s oldest international art publishers, In the World is an extensive collection of essays on artists, including Mary Sibande, Zanele Muholi, Kate Gottgens, Robin Rhode, Georgina Gratrix, Mohau Modisakeng, Anton Kannemeyer, Kemang Wa Lehulere, Pieter Hugo, Esther Mahlangu, Conrad Botes and Wim Botha.

On arrival, guests are offered a complimentary glass of wine from Spier. Talks are followed by a open discussion, wine bar and music. Books are available for purchase with cash and Snapscan.
