The largest and most comprehensive museum of land transport in South Africa.
The museum was established by Jimmie Hall, together with the City of Johannesburg, in February 1964. The JHMT gives visitors a glimpse of Johannesburg’s transport history, dating back more than a century.
The collection includes animal-drawn vehicles, bicycles and motorcycles, buses and coaches, fire engines and equipment, motor cars, steam-driven vehicles and trams and trolley buses. Booking is essential.
