What’s Different This Year?

This year, in partnership with Cinema Solidarity, Encounters Festival presents a Palestine Focus with three stirring documentaries on the topic. Cinema Solidarity is a collective of African filmmakers who believe art is critical in times of crisis.

The group stands in solidarity with multiple ongoing and often interrelated struggles of people against oppression and malevolent forms of power in an increasingly connected world. As filmmakers, they aim to use cinema as a bridge to empathy, dialogue, gathering, and connection.
