What began as an experiment between four friends five years ago, has now become one of the most popular activities in Durban. BESET Durban hosts walks and runs in historical and iconic spots around the city of Durban. Its founders, Jonas Barausse, Mark Bellingan, Cameron Finnie, and Dane Forman, started the walks as a way to get Durbanites excited to explore their city and to get off their couches and on their feet.
BESET Durban's free public walks around the city are centred around collaboration. They invite architects, champion surfers, city officials and graffiti artists to tag along and share their knowledge and experiences of the city.BESET Durban facilitates Durban Proud walking tours every six to eight weeks, as well as a 5-kilometre BESET Run every Monday at 5:30 am, regardless of the weather.
Starting locations and walking tour dates are announced on their Instagram page.
