The Book Lounge is an independent bookshop that opened in 2007 and hosts various book related events from individual book launches, library projects, and the hugely successful Open Book Festival. One of the aims of the Book Lounge is to inspire children with a love for literature.
Every Saturday morning the Book Lounge hosts Story Time for children at 3-8 years old, but all are welcome. Free of charge, the weekly event also has hot beverages, juices and sweet treats on sale. A few stories in a specific theme are read to the little guests, followed by a craft.
In addition to their regular collection, the Book Lounge has a highly curated range of children’s books and place special attention on stocking books that one wouldn’t generally find at any bookshop. They have a dedicated children’s bookseller who will be able to assist with recommendations and all things kiddies book related.
