Entrepreneurs of Langa bike tour is a social impact experience that invites guests to responsibly tour the Langa township community. The tour sees guests engaging with young innovators, artists and entrepreneurs that are part of the reason Langa has evolved into a township rich in business, arts and culture.
The tour partners with a variety of young local business owners such as a local that established Langas first high-end art gallery, 16 on Lerotholi. The tour visits many other independent artists along the way and allows guests to take a piece of the culture home with them from one of the markets. African drums and the street art scene are also stops on the bike tour. Bikers meet Thulani, a well-known Langa entrepreneur who created a platform for street artists to express themselves. Thulani’s initiative is behind many of the portraits that have been painted of South African icons such as Brenda Fassie and Themba Bavuma.
Other local business owners answer questions from guests about the work they do during the experience and talk about how communities are impacted by entrepreneurship. Lunch is served at a local restaurant where the owner, who was trained at an international hotel school and has travelled extensively, shares his experiences sharing his love for food and travel with his community.
The tour lasts approximately five hours. Bicycles and helmets are provided. Every rand paid for this experience supports the community of Langa.
