A grand piano enters the bakery next Thursday March 30th with another educator performer at its helm, Cape Towns Tertia Visser. Her trio has Seul Pearl Jung (South Korea) on cello and Johanna Roos on violin.
Written in 1811 and dedicated to the Archduke Rudolph of Austria, Beethoven wrote the Archduke Trio aka Piano Trio in B-flat major, Op. 97 as his last piano trio. Matthijs van Dijk describes his work “One over four” as follows: “Inspired in part by the electronic dance music gestures that worked their way into the piece, the rest of the work was an excuse to experiment with different sounds and effects, the most prominent involving a box of eleven “weasel balls” (a dog/cat toy – an electronic ball with an artificial tail attached to it, that rolls around).”
