The Cape Adventure Tour is ideal for explorers who want an all-round exhilarating experience in one package. The full-day tour hosted by tour operator SA Forest Adventures includes sandboarding, quad biking, ziplining, and a visit to a penguin colony in one exciting trip. A drive down the scenic Clarence Drive and a visit to Hermanus complete the ultimate Cape Town adventure.
An hour and a half of the tour is spent in a quad bike mountain and vineyards drive through the world-renowned Hamilton Russell and Southern Right wineries. The quad bike drive travels up mountains to the fynbos kingdom and to the Fernkloof nature reserve for breathtaking views of Hermanus. In Hermanis a zip line using 9 to 12 platforms travelling up to 120 meters each slides guests above a small waterfall between the Poplar Trees and Canyon. Guests can customize speed to their preference using the safe braking system.
In the Cape, snowboarding is traded for sandboarding. Here guests will receive safety instructions before sandboarding down dunes that increase in length until guests feel ready to tackle the large 230-meter high dune. The standard is to stand while descending dunes, still, guests are also taught how to sit safely during descent if balance is an issue.
Guests then visit the endangered African Penguins in the penguin colony and learn interesting facts about the species while walking down a wooden boardwalk that takes them directly to the nesting burrows. A beautiful coastal drive follows in one of the most scenic drives in the world, Clarence Drive.
Bookings are essential for the Cape Adventure Day Tour and the itinerary is set. However, the order of activities may be changed due to weather conditions.
