Tom Lanoye’s reimagination of William Shakespeare’s King Lear, translated by Antjie Krog, is performing as part of the 2019 Aardklop Arts Festival.
The performance boasts eight Kanna awards from the Klein Karoo National Arts Festival, and provides theatre lovers in the Northern part of South Africa the only chance to experience the production.
The cast includes Antoinette Kellermann, Anna-Mart van der Merwe, André Roothman, Rolanda Marais, Neels van Jaarsveld, Wilhelm van der Walt, Edwin van der Walt and Matthew Stuurman. It is directed by the widely acclaimed director, Marthinus Basson.
