Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is a theatre adaption by Richard George based on the original classic by Roald Dahl.
Charlie Bucket lives in poverty with his parents and four bedridden grandparents in a ramshackle old house at the edge of town. One day, they learn that the eccentric chocolatier Willy Wonka has hidden five golden tickets in his candy bars and that the lucky winners will each receive a lifetime’s supply of candy as well as a tour of Wonka´s chocolate factory. By an amazing stroke of luck, Charlie finds money in the street and with it, he buys a candy bar in which is hidden the last golden ticket. The lucky winners and their family members meet Willy Wonka, the incredible Oompa Loompas and experience the fantastical inventions of the most amazing candy factory in the world.
The entire production is smoothly tied together by an energetic and personable Narrator, who effortlessly bridges time and excites the audience with creative anticipation.
