Cupcakes and Commiserations is a psychological thriller set in a kitchen in Johannesburg. It combines the stories of five women who attempt to uncover the disappearance of Frank Thompson. Frank is married to Nola and is having an affair with two other women.
The play’s narrative explores the themes of monogamy, sex, marriage, betrayal, seduction, addiction and abuse, all of which give rise to the complexity of the human condition. The five women who are being interrogated about Frank’s disappearance commiserate over the recipe of love.
