The beloved solo comedy show Defending the Caveman returns by popular demand, performed by the original actor, Tim Plewman. Caveman is the longest running and most successful solo comedy in South African theatre history and also holds the record for longest running non-musical solo comedy of all time on Broadway.
The production, which has played to over a million people, humourously exposes the hunter-gatherer in us all. It is an insightful and affectionate comedy that explains why men and women see the world so differently.
Tim Plewman, who adapted Rob Becker’s script for Southern Africa and won the Vita Award for Best Actor in a Comedy for his role in the show, returns with an updated version of the legendary show. For this new run, the multi-award winning actor has updated the production to reflect today’s world of tweeting, selfies and Facebook but the show still consists of the core comedy that has made it so popular.
