Experience the spirit of Sugarlandia, a surreal world of wonder, with The Don and Don Papa Rum at the Bar of Masks.
The Bar of Masks is an international concept brought to life by fine liquor merchants, Truman & Orange, and a cast of weird and wonderful characters for one night only in South Africa. Don Papa is a small batch rum from the Philippines, made from Noble sugarcane on the island of Negros (known locally as Sugarlandia). Try it neat, over ice, or in a cocktail at this event which brings to life the stories and fables behind Papa Isio, the charismatic Philippines’ leader who, in the 1890s, helped drive the Spanish from the Negros and win independence for the island. Sugarlandia, although not a real place, is inspired by the romance of the island of Negros and is a spiritual home of Don Papa Rum, a place that echoes the values of those that burnt with passion, honour, bravery, and resilience.
Masks, myth and magical stories are provided.
