Get into the spirit of Earth Hour with family or friends by participating in an orienteering-style adventure dash in the Walter Sisulu National Botanical Gardens.
The Earth Hour Adventure has had great success in Cape Town and for the first time comes to Johannesburg. These events are hosted by WWF as a fundraiser.
The dash, which is a popular family activity, sees participants navigate their way by headlamps to hidden check points dotted across a 5km course in the gardens. After all the action, everyone can spread a picnic blanket on the lawns and enjoy entertainment under the stars while marking the actual Earth Hour.
Participants must bring a torch or headlight and a drinking mug or bottle. There is no food on sale but participants may bring a picnic basket.
The MC for the event is Proverb.
