14 to 14 September 2019

ECM Jazz Pianist Giovanni Guidi From Italy Performs With The Marcus Wyatt QuartetWorld renowned ECM jazz pianist, Giovanni Guidi, teams up with the Marcus Wyatt Quartet in a stylish concert for jazz lovers

Giovanni Guidi is an Italian jazz pianist who is well-known on the European scene as a bandleader and a frequent sideman for trumpeter Enrico Rava. As a soloist and an accompanist, his touch is subtle but technically deft, whether laying out angular solos (based on everything from slow, rubato interludes to fleet, high-register, aria-styled flights of fancy) or hard-comping, swinging grooves.

Marcus Wyatt is a South African trumpeter, composer and producer, born in 1971, who grew up in Port Elizabeth. Marcus is notable for his time living in Amsterdam, during which he met with and performed alongside influential musicians, including Sean Bergin, Tzetzepi Band and The Red Hot Chilli Peppers. He is also the winner of the 22nd South African Music Awards (SAMA).
