Genie in a Bottle is a colourful exhibition by Tunisian-born artist Taher Jaoui.
This exhibition is divided into a two part series of different works. The first compositions are a mix of distinguished, colourful semi-figurative forms with mathematical formulas on chalk board. The second series is more abstract and is largely non-figurative and gestural.
Jaoui combines an aggressive use of colour and texture with various combinations of oil, enamel, spray paint and charcoal on canvas.
The artist draws his inspiration from the American abstract expressionism movement, cartoons, graffiti, primitivism as well as his scientific background.
Opening on 16 May at 7pm. Meet the artist.
