World renowned Israeli pianist Michael Tsalka performs a concert with South African prodigies.
Michael Tsalka is the recipient of various awards and prizes from around the world and has a D.M.A. in Piano Performance and an M.M. in Early Keyboard Performance and in Chamber Music.
Tsalka has a repertoire ranging from Antonio Vivaldi to contemporary Australian composers.
He performs the concert with three talented young South African musicians: violinist, Gilah Kellner (15), cellist, Willie Naudé (15) and flautist, Daniël Spies (13). These young musicians each have a budding career, having performed already as soloists with the Gauteng Philharmonic Orchestra at the Youth Concerto Festival (2018) at Brooklyn Theatre.
The repertoire for the night is as follows: Autrefois from Pieces Humoristiques, Cecile Chaminade; Andante & Allegroe, Opus 11 no. 12, Clara Schumann; Piano Concerto no. 25 K503, W.A. Mozart; interval; Rondo in E Flat Major Opus 11, Johann Nepomuk Humel; Piano Concerto no. 20 K466, W.A. Mozart.
