Montecasino Bird Gardens is home to more than 1000 birds, reptiles, amphibians, antelope and other small animals.
They also showcase 750 plants from 37 species including an Anencephalartos Middelburgensis plant, which is said to be about 2 500 years old.
The venue offers walkways and aviaries and presents 40-minute educational and entertaining bird shows on weekends and public holidays.
It is an opportunity to experience nature and birdlife within city bounds.
Times have changed due to the national lockdown. The gardens are open but all shows have been cancelled until further notice.
