Following the successful debut season of “Letters of Reflection” by WGRUV Dance Company early in 2025, and the overwhelming demand for a restaging, the prestigious dance company is giving the audience what they want with an encore performance taking place at the Art Centre, UJ Kingsway Campus on 26 and 27 July 2025. Here’s what you need to know.

Elegantly choreographed pieces unfold like a letter in this audience favourite
“Letters of Reflection” highlights seven original works created by Holly and Lex Gruver, as well as a much-loved piece by American choreographer Tyler Gilstrap called “Unsquared”. Each of the seven pieces in the production unfold like a letter; exploring themes that challenge, inspire and move through a seamless blend of technical precision and expressive freedom.
Each letter communicates an aspect of various thought-provoking themes through fluid, technical movement by the company’s professional dancers. The show’s narrative is a profound exploration of memories of goodness, truth and beauty through a series of intimate, poetic choreographic moments presented in various styles of movement, from neoclassical to contemporary artistry.
“Our hearts are full from the overwhelming response to our debut season,” says Holly Gruver. “It’s a joy to know that our work resonated so deeply with audiences. We’re thrilled to bring the show back with a return season, bringing even more magic, movement, and emotion to the stage.”
