The Almond Blossom Festival is On for Two Weekends Only in Joburg South

With over 1,000 young trees in the ground, the farm is proud to host its third Almond Blossom Festival running for two weekends from 23 to 31 August in Walkerville. The farm began a new chapter in 2020, planting its first almond trees and embarking on the exciting journey of almond farming. Blossoms appear for only two weeks leading up to spring, transforming the farm into a pink-and-white wonderland that captures the beauty of the season.

The Almond Blossom Festival offers visitors the chance to enjoy a day of gentle exploration, delicious food and countryside charm. From walking trails through the blossoms to cultural touches inspired by Japanese art and poetry, this experience is designed for families, couples and anyone seeking a peaceful outdoor escape. What to expect at the Almond Blossom Festival

The Almond Blossom Festival is built around the highlight of the season: a 1.5km self-guided blossom trail winding through the almond trees. Along the way, visitors discover stations featuring Japanese poetry and art, with the chance to fold their own origami masterpiece step by step, ending with a completed piece to take home.

The walk takes about half an hour and requires no special fitness level, though comfortable shoes are advised for uneven ground. For those wishing to explore further, a brand-new 5km farm trail offers birdwatching and scenic views at a leisurely pace.

Guests can also look forward to delicious Japanese-inspired street food, farm-fresh produce, and the newly launched Sunset Picnics among the blossoms, which must be booked in advance.

Cost: Please note that the event is fully booked for both weekends. No walk-ins will be accommodated and attendance is strictly limited to those with a confirmed booking
