The fifth edition of AERO South Africa is taking place from 25 to 27 June 2025 at Lanseria International Airport, once again offering a valuable platform for businesses and experts in the aviation industry to connect, engage, and grow. Here’s what you need to know.

What to expect from AERO South Africa 2025

This year, AERO South Africa welcomes 61 confirmed exhibitors covering OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers), maintenance providers, pilot training, and associations representing the broader general aviation sector. Visitors can expect to see various static aircraft displayed on site, a Park & Sell Area, demo flights, and workshops.

Over the three-day programme, various sessions will be held addressing key topics relevant to the current general aviation environment and providing opportunities for knowledge sharing across the sector.

Business matchmaking sessions will also take place, giving exhibitors and trade visitors the chance to engage in meaningful business discussions.

AERO South Africa 2025 highlights

The programme highlights include the African Business Aviation Association (ABAA) Safety and Training Workshop, which will be held in the speaking theatre located in the High Life Lounge on Thursday, 26 June.

Giant man-made eagles at the aviation exhibition

See some of the most exciting aircraft models at the exhibition, which will dissect, discuss and deconstruct air travel, aviation, and aerodynamics. The exhibition is simultaneously celebratory and critical, excited about the fascination with flights.

Conference: How aviation is shaping smart cities in Gauteng

Aviation experts and enthusiasts can also look forward to the Smart Cities, Smart Skies Conference taking place on Wednesday and Friday, 25 and 27 June in the Aeronautical Aviation Hangar.

The conference is presented in collaboration with the Gauteng Tourism Authority (GTA), Gauteng Growth and Development Agency (GGDA), City of Tshwane (COT), Gauteng Economic Development (GED), and Aeronautical Aviation and focuses on the role of aviation in supporting and shaping smart city development in South Africa.

A youth-focused session for those interested in a career in aviation

On Thursday, 26 June, in the same venue, a dedicated Youth Development Programme, sponsored by ATNS will take place. This initiative is designed to introduce learners to career opportunities in the aviation sector and is presented in close collaboration with the event’s key partners.

Demo flights, also known as introductory or demonstration flights, are short flights used to familiarise individuals with the experience of flying, explore flight training, or showcase aircraft capabilities to potential buyers. They are a hands-on, immersive way to experience the aircraft, instructors, and facilities.

Catch spectacular fly-ins at the event

A “fly-in” refers to event guests attending AERO South Africa event by private aircraft. Fly-ins are mostly recreational gatherings of pilots and aviation enthusiasts sharing their love of flying and aircraft. Need to know before you go

Lanseria International Airport is easily accessible whether you’re flying in or driving. For fly-ins, the airport is ready to accommodate general aviation aircraft. Be sure to register your aircraft and arrival details for fly-ins in advance here.

For those driving, parking and a shuttle service will be available to take visitors directly to the showgrounds.
