Bedfordview Library’s Children’s Corner Gets a Fresh Look with Help from Eastgate Shopping Centre

On 4 July 2026, the Children’s Fun Corner in Bedfordview Library unveiled a new look created with the help of the Eastgate Shopping Centre. The upgrade is part of a community upliftment initiative aimed at creating a brighter, more inspiring and welcoming environment for young readers through a focus on literacy, creativity and belonging.

A fresh, fun and creative space encouraging children’s literacy

As part of the Bedfordview Library’s Children’s Fun Corner makeover, outdated wall art, furniture and structures were removed, making way for new seating including colourful chairs and bean bags to be introduced alongside a decorative feature element. Some older items were also restored to look as good as new.

Library visitors will also notice seven brand-new custom painted canvas murals created by learners from Bedfordview Primary School, Reddam House Bedfordview, St Andrew’s School for Girls, St Benedict’s College and St Luke’s College to add colour, imagination and a sense of community ownership to the environment.

With support from Eastgate, the new children’s space can better support literacy and early learning through an educational environment where children can read, imagine and engage comfortably.
