And Yet We Imagine

A new participatory art exhibition, "And yet we imagine," has opened at the Desmond and Leah Tutu Legacy Foundation.. The exhibition explores collective visions for a just and sustainable future through the lens of art and imagination.

The exhibition features work from poets, visual artists, performers, and sound artists, alongside letters written to the future by both South African eco-justice advocates and contributors from around the world, including children. Featured artists include Hugo Kanyingu Kabeya, Lilitha Buti and Tayla Paige.

Spearheaded by Climate Lounge in partnership with DearTomorrow, the exhibition is co-curated by artists Sarah Robyn Farrell and Claire Rousell. “We’re not just in an environmental crisis,” says Rousell, “but a crisis of imagination. We need to expand what we believe is possible.” Farrell adds, “Imagination is often seen as a luxury—but it may be our most powerful tool for change.”
