The Bodhi Khaya Nature Retreat stands out for being one of the most diverse biospheres in the world: one of only seven floral kingdoms in the world. Situated at the foot of the Witkrans Mountain in the Overberg region, it offers a wholesome space for personal transformation.
Activities on offer include catered personal retreats, facilitated retreats and the option to host a retreat.
Daily facilitated sessions of meditation for beginners and for those who are adept are available. There are spring fed mountain dams for a dip in hot summers and over 30km of trails for all hiking capabilities including a three-hour roundtrip hike to the summit of the pyramidal mountain called God’s View.
Guests can have walking meditations around the labyrinth; explore the library; treat themselves to a massage or schedule a yoga session. As part of its reforestation initiative the Bodhi Khaya Nature Retreat invites every visitor to ceremonially plant a tree to remember a loved one, to recommit to a relationship or to seed something new.
Bodhi Khaya promises safety and freedom in its natural environment: you can safely wander alone on the trails of the nature retreat without interruption.
Adding to the unique experience found here, is the vegetarian and gluten-free kitchen that serves nourishing and immune boosting meals. The kitchen makes its own detox Artemisia tea and fermented medicines like kombucha, kimchi and sauerkraut. Following the principles of Ayurveda, Chef Nicola Cunningham promotes healing from within.
