The Soweto Theatre Youth Orchestra proudly presents “Chapters of Her”, a concert celebrating Women's Month through the powerful combination of music, poetry and storytelling.
“Chapters of Her” takes audiences on a moving musical journey through the lives and legacies of legendary African women in music, including Miriam Makeba, Sophie Mgcina, Slyvia Mdunyelwa and Dorothy Masuka.
Through orchestral arrangements, spoken word and creative interpretation, the concert explores the stories, struggles, triumphs and contributions of women whose voices helped shape African music and identity.
“Chapters of Her” is a celebration of womanhood, heritage, resilience and artistic excellence. It is an opportunity for audiences to witness the next generation of musicians honouring the women who paved the way while creating a legacy of their own.
