Owing to popular demand, Showtime Management is bringing 'Chicago - The Musical' back to South African stages in 2025, and it's even sexier than ever before.
The award-winning Broadway and West End musical is taking Joburg by storm once again after receiving rave reviews and nightly standing ovations throughout all previous sold-out seasons in both the city of gold and Cape Town.
'Chicago' tells the story of a nightclub singer, a double-murderess, a smooth-talking lawyer and a cell block of sin, unfolding to show-stopping songs including ‘All that Jazz’, ‘Cell Block Tango’ and ‘Mister Cellophane’. Award-winning South African musical director, Kevin Kraak (The Lion King, Chicago, My Fair Lady) leads an 11-piece orchestra for the South African production.
'Chicago' has everything that makes Broadway and the West End great – a universal tale of fame, fortune and all that jazz; one foot-tapping song after another, the most sensational dancing, and a sharply sophisticated set which incorporates the live orchestra.
Winner of six Tonys, two Oliviers, one Grammy, two Baftas and six Academy Awards, it is the longest-running musical revival in Broadway history.
