This Valentine’s night, celebrate love wrapped in the soulful melodies of South Africa’s most cherished jazz composers, as performed by Ziza Muftic.
Ziza Muftic is a Croatian-born, Johannesburg-based jazz vocalist, composer, pianist, and educator known for her unique voice and expressive musical style. Ziza’s sound is characterised by a mix of Eastern European folk influences with American and South African jazz traditions.
She performs in several languages, including English, Croatian, Hungarian, Portuguese, isiXhosa, and isiZulu. Expect to hear music by composers Khaya Mahlangu, McCoy Mrubata, Bheki Mseleku, Moses Taiwa Molelekwa, Themba Mkhize, Sydney Mnisi, Feya Faku, Marcus Wyatt, and more.
On stage with Ziza are some of Jozi’s best musicians: Romy Brauteseth on upright bass, Peter Auret on drums, David Cousins on piano, and, as a special guest, Bra Sydney Ace Mnisi on tenor saxophone and flute. The ticket price includes a Red Pomegranate Mimosa.
