Franschhoek Celebrates Bastille Day

The Franschhoek Wine Valley, the Cape’s very own French outpost celebrates Bastille Day. The valley is set to be a hive of activity and French flair, offering a weekend of food and the renowned fine wines of Franschhoek.

Guests are invited to wear berets and all things red, white, and blue as a part of the French ambience of the Winelands.

The celebration features bespoke village shopping and lively street entertainment. This year, Prescient is the partner to the Bastille Festival and all its Main Street festivities and celebrations.

Franschhoek, long since renowned for its wine production and cuisine, has earned a reputation as one of the top wine destinations globally.

The Bastille weekend offers the perfect backdrop for guests to immerse themselves in French culture and nods to France’s rich heritage, specifically commemorating the storming of the Bastille prison in 1789.

For those who need further incentive to dress up, there are fantastic prizes to be won for the best-dressed attendees on Saturday.
