Event information
The Harties Cableway offers fourteen high-tech cable cars, built to carry six passengers at a time and able to transport up to 500 people per hour and is the longest mono-cableway in Africa. Visitors are presented with panoramic views of the beautiful Magaliesberg, Hartbeespoort Dam and surrounding areas, as well as excellent recreational and educational facilities including paragliding, mountain climbing, abseiling or zip-lining.
Children can also wander along the 'Dassie Loop' walkway, where educational placards describe points of interest seen from the top or play in the children's zone.
Dining options include The Bugatti Express at the top, as well as a Bugatti restaurant at the base station. Both restaurants offer a range of refreshments, meals and snacks, including pizzas, pasta, sandwiches and burgers. Bugatti can also cater for functions, and extend the Cableway operating hours over the weekend, upon request, for those keen to dine by candlelight. For those eager to enjoy some time in the outdoors, picnic baskets can be arranged on request, and are filled with tasty treats. While picnicking, visitors may well be lucky enough to see some endangered vultures circling overhead, from the nearby vulture sanctuary.
For a memento, visitors can purchase gifts at The Little Shop at the Top, a curio shop located at the top of the mountain.
