Ikamva Youth's mission is to enable disadvantaged youth to pull themselves and each other out of poverty and into tertiary education or employment.
It provides a safe space for learners to be after class ends, where they receive help with their homework and a host of other services and support to ensure they succeed. Since its humble beginning in 2003 , Ikamva Youth has grown from one branch to more than fifteen and support over 5,000 learners per year through our various programmes.
Volunteers are a treasured resorce and their contributions have made Ikamva Youth a successful organisation.
Volunteers have the opportunity to assist learners with their homework, offer tutoring and mentorship.
This also assists volunteers
-Build character, self-esteem, self-confidence and strengthen your leadership skills;
-Develop your capacity as a facilitator, public speaker and education practitioner;
-Join a family and a great network of people who will be there to support you;
-Meet other tutors who have the same commitment towards the next generation;
-Meet a range of people from school learners, to parents, to school and community members;
-Bolster their CV with work experience
-Be exposed to opportunities for bursaries, jobs and other educational opportunities;
-Touch the lives and make a real impact on the lives of learners from disadvantaged communities and build their homes and dreams be being a role model.
