Jonkershoek Nature Reserve offers short, easy hikes and longer, more challenging ones ranging between 5km and 18km.
The most popular hike is along the Eerste River, past Eerste (First) Waterval, followed by a steep climb along a gorge to the foot of Tweede (Second) Waterval. The dangerous ascent to this waterfall is closed. Hikers are advised to note that the path is slippery when wet. A longer more challenging route is the Panorama Circuit that starts with a steep climb to a contour path just below the Banhoek peaks and then takes hikers along the upper rim of the valley and back down to Tweede Waterval - total distance is 18kms.
Also available are various biking trails of every level.
