Cape Town jazz lovers are in for a rare treat this May, as internationally acclaimed Italian vocalist and composer Marta Raviglia brings her daring, genre-defying artistry to two intimate local venues.
Marta, known for her fearless improvisation, magnetic stage presence, and an extraordinary voice that dances between jazz, contemporary music, and avant-garde experimentation, will grace Cape Town with two special performances:
At The Commons, Marta will perform alongside a stellar Cape Town rhythm section: Blake Hellaby (piano), Joshua Nemaire (bass), and Joshua Klein (drums). Expect a compelling mix of jazz standards and original compositions that showcase her expansive musical range.
The performance at the Alma Café, is a special double-bill concert, and features Marta in an exciting collaboration with beloved South African vocalist and pianist Amanda Tiffin. The duo will explore jazz classics and fresh contemporary gems in a warm, up-close-and-personal setting — a rare and exquisite musical dialogue between two powerhouse vocalists.
Tickets for The Commons can be booked online, but tickets for Alma Cafe must be booked via email.
