The Men In Heels Walk-a-thon for Cancer is an opportunity for men to raise awareness for breast and prostate cancer by strutting their stuff in heels.
According to the Breast Health Foundation (South Africa) it is estimated that South Africa has the highest incidence of male breast cancer in the world with 1-3% of all breast cancer cases occurring in men. This is an opportunity for men to, quite literally, put themselves in women's shoes in the name of a good cause.
The Walk-a-thon also features professionals who provide tips on how to self-examine at home and what symptoms to look for in order to detect potential cancers early.
