This is the first FIM Motocross World Championship to be held on African soil after 18 years, and it brings together the world’s best motorcycle riders to compete and show off their speed, endurance, and technical mastery.
The first event in South Africa took place in 1985 in Gauteng, then in 2004 and 2006 in Sun City, and the most recent MXGP event took place in 2008 at Nelspruit.
The 2026 event includes the premier MXGP and MX2 classes, with the best off-road motorcycle racers and factory teams, each involved in a weekend filled with high-adrenaline competition.
The weekend also blends sports and culture, with global fans enjoying immersive fan zones, brand activations, live entertainment, hospitality suites, and curated food and lifestyle offerings, resulting in an innovative social experience.
