Queen’s Fort Military Museum

Exhibitions include San and Basotho conflicts; stories of Mzilikazi of the Matebele; the story of Hendrik Potgieter and the Battle of Vegkop near Heilbron in 1836; and the battle of Swartkoppies in 1845 where Adam Kok with assistance from the British defeated the Trekboer.

Other notable events that are catalogued include The Battle of Viervoet of 1851 where King Moshoeshoe defeated the allied forces of Korana, Griquas, Barolong and the British under Major Warden; The First and Second World Wars; the South African War - Anglo-Boer War; the 1914 Rebellion; as well as a history of the liberation movements in South Africa.

Tanks and guns are also on show on the terrain of the Military Museum, which is also referred to as the Bloemfontein Fort.
