The Cape’s first farm, established in 1682, has come a long way from its humble beginnings. Tryn at Steenberg is one of two restaurants at the farm. Dedicated to Steenberg’s 17th century founder, Catharina Ras, (known as Tryn) this Cape Town restaurant is contemporary in spirit with delicious food, a bold and modern interior, gorgeous views and a relaxed atmosphere.
Bistro Sixteen82, named after the year in which Steenberg was established, first opened its doors in 2009, and has been the tapas and bistro-style darling of the dining world ever since.
Steenberg Farm also boasts the 5-Star Steenberg Hotel, with 24 rooms encapsulating the dictum of understated luxury, offering spectacular views and discreet, personalized service. Guests are given the freedom of the estate for ambling, cycling, exploring the trails and experiencing the 18 hole golf course.
