The Suidoosterfees 2025, themed "Art is everything," takes place at the Artscape Theatre in Cape Town. The festival offers a rich programme of theatre, music, dance, comedy, visual art, and literature, followed by SOF Junior from 5 to 8 May, aimed at learners and teachers.
Highlights include Breyten Breytenbach’s final play Verwelkingslied, Ronelda Kamfer’s Kompoun, and performances by Arnold Vosloo, Elzabé Zietsman, and Carlo Daniels. The popular Short and Sweet series returns with 30-minute performances across genres.
The music lineup includes Nataniël, David Kramer, and the Stellenbosch University Choir, while comedy fans can look forward to Marc Lottering and Joe Barber. The festival also features workshops, RSG live broadcasts, and the Jakes Gerwel Discussion Series on current issues.
Now in its 22nd year, Suidoosterfees promises a dynamic, inclusive celebration of South African creativity.
