Sustainable Seafood Fest

Now in its third year, this two-day festival at Makers Landing focuses on sustainable seafood through a combination of fresh fish markets, cooking demonstrations, public filleting demos, food and beverage vendors, and education zones covering ocean and fishing practices.

Among the participating organisations are Abalobi, a South African fisher-driven social enterprise whose isiXhosa name means "fishers," which connects small-scale fishing communities to markets through a digital traceability platform. WWF SASSI (Southern African Sustainable Seafood Initiative) will also be present, along with the Two Oceans Aquarium. Fish suppliers Greenfish and Fish4Africa are among the fresh fish market vendors. A dedicated kids area and live music are also part of the programme.

Makers Landing, situated at the Cruise Terminal of the V&A Waterfront, is a food-focused destination designed to showcase Cape Town's culinary talent and food producers. A free RSVP is available on the event page. MyCiTi bus routes service the Waterfront directly; multiple paid parking garages are on site.
