With the version first performed in St Petersburg in 1895, the ballet Swan Lake graces Cape Town’s most prestigious stage when this grand production arrives at the Artscape Opera House for a season.

Principal Ballerina, Margarita Avdeeva, who comes from Uzbekistan, said, “I am honoured to be dancing the role of Odette/Odile in the wonderful city of Cape Town. As South Africa is recognised for its warm and generous audiences, I am proud to be part of this significant experience.”
Ms Avdeeva shares the lead role with famed ballerina, Irina Kolesnikova who is delighted and looking forward to returning to South Africa.
