Table Mountain Aerial Cableway

Voted as one of the New Seven Wonders of the Natural World, Table Mountain is one of Cape Town's most popular attractions. The Table Mountain Aerial Cableway is a trip up to the summit in one of two revolving cable cars takes less than 10 minutes, and offers magnificent views of the surrounding city and the ocean beyond (weather permitting).

Families can spend the better part of the day exploring the summit by taking one of three available walks. There is also a cafe and deli where visitors can collect a ready made picnic pack.

The cableway has extended operating hours in summer and shuts down for about 3 - 6 weeks in the middle of winter for routine maintenance.

Birthday Specials:

On the day of your birthday, or the month of, South African ID holders are eligible for a free return ticket on the cable car. This special is applicable for South African residents only, so you’ll need your ID number when booking online, and your ID document when purchasing at the gate. A valid ID or birth certificate is required for children younger than 16 years.

Tickets should be collected from the ticket office at the Lower Station before 2.30pm.
