Table Mountain HEMA

The Table Mountain HEMA Club is a hub for those passionate about Historical European Martial Arts, focusing on the rediscovery and practice of combat techniques from medieval to Victorian times. Members train with a variety of historically significant weapons, including longswords, daggers, military sabres, and halberds. The club emphasizes technical precision, control, and historical authenticity while offering a dynamic and engaging martial arts experience.

Training sessions combine drills, studying historical treatises, and sparring, creating a balance between martial tradition and practical application. The club fosters connections within the international HEMA community, collaborating with organizations like the Medieval Armed Combat Society and hosting workshops with professional HEMA instructors. Sessions are open to beginners and experienced practitioners, with all necessary equipment available during introductory training periods.

Beyond training, the club hosts regular post-practice social gatherings and events like movie nights and end-of-year dinners. Whether you're drawn to historical combat or simply looking for a unique form of exercise, the Table Mountain HEMA Club offers an enriching and welcoming environment
