The Texas Smoked Meat Fest at Capital Craft features Smoke Meisters Chris and Zac, Texas-style barbecue pitmasters, bringing the authentic taste of Texas, alongside a travelling band of American BBQ masters, to Pretoria.
The event features premium cuts of Wagyu meat coated in a pepper-forward dry rub before being smoked low and slow for up to 16 hours, creating deep smoky flavours and melt-in-your-mouth tenderness. The Jack Daniel's Tennessee Whisky serves as a perfect partner for the event as the sweet, oaky notes of the whisky cut through the rich, fatty beef, enhancing the overall meal.
There's also Mexican pulled pork, slow-cooked with Mexican spices and finished with original Cholula hot sauce, and pork sausage featuring bold Texas-style smoke. Alongside the main servings of meats, visitors can indulge in side dishes that include panko-topped smoked mac and cheese, Southern-style green beans with bacon and onion, and beer cheese jalapeño bread and butter. There are also fixings available, such as homemade pickled red onions, pickled dill cucumber slices, and sliced jalapeños.
For meat lovers who can't make the trip to Texas, this event is great, as it brings Texas to their plates.
The ticket does not include a table reservation; guests will need to contact the event organisers to make one.
