The AfroDiaspora Connection is a collaborative music exchange project curated by Joburg-based alternative music development agency The Dig, and Uk-based jazz and alternative music organisation Jazzre:freshed. The project aims to establish a cross-cultural music community and exchange between South Africa and the UK and African diaspora communities.
The main events take place in Cape Town and Johannesburg. Headlining in Johannesburg is Grammy award-winning duo, Blue Lab Beats, hailing all the way from the UK. The fast-rising production duo expertly and fluidly fuse jazz, hip-hop, Afrobeat, soul and electronica. The event also invites local multi-talent, Thandi Ntuli, to treat audiences with her signature jazz stylings.
Also performing is English-Nigerian visionary saxophonist, composer, bandleader and innovator Camilla George, multi-national neo-soul quartet Seba Kaapstad, and jazz trumpeter Ndabo Zulu.
