Leos Janacek's beloved opera is translated into English for this new Cape Town Opera production.
Originally written in Czech, the story follows Vixen Sharp-Ears, a lively forest animal, on a journey from being forcefully captured to sparking revolution, seeking adventure, and finding love. Rather than ending in tragedy, this wild-hearted and rambunctious opera teaches those of all ages about the wonder of nature and the eternal cycle of life.
This production is made in collaboration with UCT's Opera School, featuring some of Cape Town's best theatrical talent, and is directed by international veteran Joshua Major and conducted by Felix Kruger.
