Named after the Jukskei River, which flows between the two Gauteng cities of Pretoria and Johannesburg, The Jukskei Derby refers to the professional rugby union rivalry between the Pretoria-based Vodacom Bulls and the Joburg-based Fidelity ADT Lions.
Coming off of their respective clashes with New Zealand's All Blacks, each team has something to prove, and with the match taking place on the Bull's home turf at Loftus Stadium, they have a chance to establish local dominance on the league table. The match sets the stage for both a clash on the field and a coaching battle between two management groups that share a history and respect on and off the field.
As always, this rugby derby is a battle for bragging rights, and it's sure to once again be a talking point among Gauteng's rugby communities.
