Warrior Toy Museum

Curator Percy van Zyl has created a haven for collectors of cars, buses, airplanes, trucks and lead soldiers at this substantial toy museum. There’s a permanent display of 4 000 model cars, 500 dolls and teddy bears, miniature dolls houses and rooms, two fully operating railroads, Meccano, ships, and many other miscellaneous toys.

Model cars vary in style, from early 21th century vehicles, to Ian Fleming’s famous 1920’s racing car Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, to Mr Bean’s infamous little yellow Mini.

In addition to transportation toys there are many lead soldier displays. These include a battalion of toy soldiers warding off Zulu impis in ox formation attacking with spears, as well as a Nazi parade with marching Hitler Youth and a small Adolf Hitler saluting his army.

The Simon’s Town Warrior Toy Museum also has a sales section for collectors.
