JPO Winter Season: Concert 2

Following a sold-out Summer Season, the Johannesburg Philharmonic Orchestra brings an exciting and diverse programme over the Winter season to warm the hearts of all music lovers.

The Winter Symphony Season runs from 30 May to 20 June with concerts taking place every Thursday evening. The programme includes the return of popular conductors, and debut performances by an exciting line-up of soloists.

Winter Concert 2, held on 6 June, stars Durban-born soprano, Bronwen Forbay as soloist with Yasuo Shinozaki conducting. Forbay's soprano has been described in OPERA Magazine as "that of a singer at the top of her game," and paired with Japanese-born, internationally acclaimed Shinozaki's emotional and direct conduction, is sure to wow the audience.

The programme features arias from Bizet’s 'Carmen', Faure’s 'Pavanne', Cilea’s 'Adriana Lecouvreur', and Gounod’s 'Romeo et Juliette'. Tchaikovsky’s 'Symphony No. 3' closes the concert after interval.
